Young Man Murdered In Purcell Estate Early Morning

Residents of the Canaan Road, Purcell Estate community were awaken by gun shots early Wednesday morning.

Witnesses say at around 1:43 a.m. up to 10 gun shots broke the silence of the early morning. Residents soon emerged to find police and ambulance services on the scene. As Police wrapped yellow caution tape across electrical poles, an officer cautioned bystanders not to cross police lines or risk being arrested.

Eyewitnesses say police proceeded to spray paint around bullet shells on the street.

Officers and Paramedics were seen examining a body which lay beside a blue motor cycle. The lifeless body is reportedly a young man known as MB Quentinn on Facebook. “Quentinn’s” body layed 25 feet away from his family’s two-storey home.

As more startled Purcell community residents emerged from their homes, questions swirled about the identity and what might have happened.

“No one saw anything, but we all heard it”, said one resident.

Meanwhile family of the young man were unaware that he had been shot and killed. Shortly after 3AM, family members arrived on the scene and were overcome with grief noticing their young family member lying roadside. RVIPF Police carrying large weapons restrained his distraught family members from seeing the body up close.

“This isn’t usual for this street”, one resident said. “And we didn’t hear a car or motorcycle after the shots, so the person might have been on foot.”

Other residents said that Quentinn’s history and behaviour would make it difficult to figure out who could have done it.

His family members and the Purcell community are now left to make sense of this crime.

The deceased was reportedly out on bail and awaiting trial for a gun-related matter.

If he had been remanded for the gun related offences as he should have been, he would be alive. I fear there is more to come. Our tourism is at great risk of decline unless the Government get to grips with this.
